RICHARD C. “DICK” EGGLESTON, age 62, of 621 Old 76 Rd., Brooktondale, NY passed away Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013 after a lengthy illness. Dick was born June 29, 1951 in Barton, NY a son of the late Merritt and Edna Swackhammer Eggleston. Formerly of Harford, NY, he was a Brooktondale resident for the last 20 years and was married on June 29, 1997 to the former Becky Shevalier who survives.
Dick was employed, prior to his illness, by Kimball Real Estate. He loved his family, fishing and going for rides in the country. His family gives many thanks to Robert Farnach for his assistance and the special care given to Dick.
Survivors include his children, Billy Joe Radcliffe, Tammy Lynn Romaine, Chad Heath, Merritt (Shannon) Eggleston, Jenna (Jeffrey) Thomas, April Eggleston-Branston, Shane Eggleston, Georgia Barrett, Daniel (Krista) Hitchcock, Michael Beckman; his siblings, Beatrice (Richard) Gleason, Merritt Eggleston, Jr, Joyce (Henry) Hatch, Mary (Don) Jordan, Helen (Vince) Hatch, Roger (Darla) Eggleston, Marvin (Roberta) Eggleston, Susan (Joseph) Inman; 25 grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and his cat, “Jonzeey”. He was predeceased by his parents and two brothers, Harold and Roy.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Thursday, Aug. 29 at the Perkins Funeral Home with Rev. Phil Jordan officiating. Friends are invited to call from 10 to 11 AM Thursday at the funeral home, 55 West Main St., Dryden. Burial will be private
