RICHARD E. "DICK" FREELOVE, age 69, of 362 Bone Plain Rd., Freeville, NY, died Saturday, June 4, 2005 at Lakeside Nursing Home, Ithaca. Mr. Freelove was born July 4, 1935 in Elmira, NY, a son of the late Wilbur and Violet Hill Freelove. He attended a one room school in Mecklenburg and graduated from Trumansburg High School in 1953. He served in the US Air Force and has been a life member of Finger Lakes Post #961, Veterans of Foreign Wars. On July 1, 1959 he was married to the former Geri Bougor. Dick was a self-employed carpenter. A son, Richard E. Freelove, Jr. died in 1982; and a sister, Phyllis Listar died in 2004.

Survivors include his wife, Geri of Freeville; his son, Carl D. Freelove of Ithaca; grandsons, Joseph, Christopher, Gregory and Nicholas Freelove; brothers, Kyrle (Helena) Burlew, Norman (Ellen) Burlew, Douglas (Wilma) Burlew; a daughter-in-law, Cheryl Freelove of Groton; sisters, Delores (John) Hubbell, Wanda (Walt) Schwan; nieces and nephews

and many special friends among whom are Tina and Marvin Richmond, Tom, Bia, Nick and Ticea Stavropaulas.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 8th, 2005 at the Perkins Funeral Home, 55 West Main St., Dryden, NY. Rev. James Geuder will officiate. Burial with military honors provided by members

of Ithaca Post #961 will follow in Willow Glen Cemetery, Dryden. There are no calling hours. Memorials are directed to the Dryden Ambulance Fund, P.O. Box 397, Dryden, NY 13053-0397 or the W. B. Strong Vol. Fire Dept. Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 229, Freeville, NY 13068-0229 or Hospicare, 172 E. King Rd., Ithaca, NY 14950.
