Richard Noel Haines, Jr.

October 27, 1950 — November 24, 2017

RICHARD NOEL HAINES JR., age 67, of 71 Lafayette Road, McLean, NY passed away unexpectedly on Friday, Nov. 24, 2017 at home. "Dickie" was born in Fort Fairfield, Maine on October 27, 1950, the eldest son of Richard Noel Haines Sr. and Janice Anita Hoyt Haines. Relocating to this area in 1959, his family started out as potato farmers, later switching to a milking dairy, which still operates in McLean today. He was graduated from Dryden High School in 1969, continued working as a dairy farmer and held many local jobs; such as auctioneer and car salesman. He later found his dream job working at the Cornell Orchards, where he worked until retiring in 2013. Dickie was a nurturer, good listener, and natural healer who cared for all and could nurse anything back to health. Dickie loved nature and to be outdoors and continued this love by starting a small "50 tree" orchard at home. He was also very proud of his vegetable and flower gardens along with his numerous household plants. Dickie was a consummate kidder, where the more he liked you the more he picked on you. Dickie was the best husband anyone could ask for and truly loved his family and friends.
Survivors include his loving wife and soul mate, Terry Blake Haines; children, Jerrie Lin (Steve Powers) Haines, Graydon (Lorissa) Haines, Jacob Haines, Richard N. Haines III, Jessica (John) Carpenter, Jeremy (Jade) Kinsman; brothers, Carl (Bonnie) Haines, Stephen (Deena) Haines; sisters, Constance (Peter) Brown, Jennifer (John) Morey, Harmony Haines; brother-in-laws, Jack and Dennis Blake; grandchildren, Kenyatta, Isaac, Rylie, Gray, Richard IV, Justin, Rachel, JJ, and many other friends and family members. He was predeceased by his parents, a brother, Samual Graydon Haines, and brother-in-law and best friend, Paul Blake.
