Richard J. Kotowski, 68, of Lansing, New York, passed away peacefully at his home
on October 5th, 2022. He had been bravely fighting a multitude of illnesses for a
number of years.
Rick was born on February 22, 1954, in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada, to Patricia
and Anthony Kotowski. He grew up outside of Pittsburgh in New Kensington, Pa
with his three sisters, Paddy (Rich) Jenkins of Leechburg, Pa., Tammy (Keith)
Williams of Manlius, New York and Tonni (Ted) Saganis of New Kensington, Pa.
Rick worked in restaurant management all his life. He retired in 2016. He was a
fantastic bowler but his passion in life was for golf. His heart is also left at his
favorite place in the world, Stoney Lake in Ontario. Recalling his favorite
memories of family and vacations there was a comfort to him towards his end of
life.
He leaves behind the love of his life, his wife of 38 years, Robyn Dawn of Lansing
New York. His daughters Aubree (Daniel) Lancaster of Dryden, New York, Candyce
Kotowski of Cortland New York. Sons, Bryan Kotowski, Raymond McClung of
Boonsboro, Maryland, Drake Kotowski of Ithaca, New York and grandson Logan
Lancaster of Dryden, New York. Several beloved nieces and nephews that were as
precious to him as his own children. All the kids loved Uncle Ricky.
The family would like to also mention his doctors and support teams at Cayuga
Medical Group, especially Drs Bael and Negoi, and also to Hospice Services of
Tompkins County.
There will be a service for anyone that would like to come and say their last
goodbye to Rick. It will be held on Saturday, October 29th, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at
Perkins Funeral Home in Dryden, New York.
