Robert Lester Davis

Robert Lester Davis, age 87, of 120 Sykes St., Groton, NY, formerly of Freeville and Pearl River, NY passed away Monday, January 1, 2018 at Groton Nursing Facility.
Born March 26, 1930 in Kingston, PA he was the son of the late Lester T. and Winifred Brown Davis. Bob moved in the middle 30's to Pearl River, NY and was graduated from High School in 1948. He was married to Wilma Koether in 1951 and she predeceased him in 1985. In 1951, he was drafted into the US Army where he served 17 months in TRIESTE. Corporal Davis was honorably discharged in 1953. Upon his return from service, in August 1953, he became a mail carrier with the US Postal Service in Pearl River, NY, retiring in 1984. In 1986 he moved to Freeville, NY. Bob loved to travel and take photos of his travels.
Bob is survived by his sister, Margaret A. Plotkin of Dumont, NJ and his brother, Philip A. Davis of Cortland, NY; two nieces, Alison (Joe) Kelleher and Elizabeth Plotkin; one nephew, James Plotkin; and special friends, Deb and Jim Duncan of Cortland, NY.
Burial in Kocher Cemetery, Harvey's Lake, PA will be private at the convenience of the family.
