ROBERT STEVE FRITTS,
age 56, of 245 Cook Hill Rd., Marathon, NY died unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 19, 2006 at home. "Steve" was born August 24, 1949 a son of the late Robert and Marion Bell Fritts. He was graduated from Marathon High School in 1968 and from SUNY Binghamton with a degree in Mid Eastern Studies. Previously he had attended TC-3. On August 30, 1979 he was married to Joanne C. Turnowicz in East Newark, NJ. Steve had been employed at Saulsbury Fire Apparatus and later was a self employed logger. Currently he was employed by Morris Protective Services at Intertek in Cortland.
Survivors include his wife, Joanne at home, his step-children, Christine (John) Leyburn of Freetown and Theresa (Thomas) Merrill of Pleasant Grove, AL; his mother-in-law, Mary J. Turnowicz of Marathon; five step-grandchildren; four step great-grandchildren and many cousins.
No Services will be held. Arrangements were entrusted to the Perkins Funeral Home, 55 West Main St., Dryden, NY. Friends are asked to consider a memorial to the Marathon Emergency Squad, Peck St., Marathon, NY 13803.
