ROBERT A. LUSS,
76, of 1146 Lake Como Road, Cortland, NY and formerly of Dryden, NY died Wednesday, March 23, 2005 at the Hospicare Residence. "Bob" was born April 12, 1929 at Pittsburgh, PA a son of the late Arthur J. and Worthie R. Holden Luss. Bob served honorably in the US Army in Korea and on April 19, 1954 was married to the former Marlene D. White at Dryden, NY. Bob and Marlene were long time residents of Dryden and relocated to Lake Como Road in 1995. He was a member of the Leonard T. Spaulding Post #1134, American Legion and Dryden Township Post #8158, Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was retired from the Town of Dryden Highway Department. Bob enjoyed sports, building construction, antiques, nature
and his family and friends. He was an excellent golfer and bowler and enjoyed most of all helping his loved ones. His grandchildren were very special to him. Bob’s presence will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Marlene W. Luss of Cortland; his daughters, Susan W. (Ron Mumbulo) Luss of Freeville, Robin J. (John) Flynn of Concord, NC and Michelle L. (Robert) Weathers of Ithaca; grandchildren, John and Jamie Flynn and Erin and Lauren Mumbulo; his brother, Dr. Charles and Roberta Luss of Springfield, VT; brothers-in-law, Robert Hansen of Springville, NY, William (Bonnie) White of Trumansburg, NY, sister-in-law Donna (Richard) Hanks of Omak, WA; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, William Arthur Luss who died in 1963 and a sister, Dorothy Hansen.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 30, 2005 at Holy Cross Church, 375 George Road, Freeville, NY. A reception will be held in Cleary Hall following the service. Burial will be later in Green Hills Cemetery, Dryden. There are no calling hours. Those wishing to remember Bob are asked to consider a memorial gift, in lieu of flowers, to Hospicare, 172 E. King Road, Ithaca, NY 14850 or Holy Cross Church, 375 George Rd., Freeville, NY 13068.
