ROBERT W. WHEELER, of Summer Hill, NY passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2015. Robert was born in Newark, NJ a son of the late Ralph and Grace Edna Wright Wheeler. Bob attended school in Clifton Springs, NY and Phelps, NY and has been a Summer Hill Resident for the last 34 years. He was employed as a Bus Driver in Syracuse for Central Bus Company and later was the owner of R.W. Wheeler Cleaning and Maintenance. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed woodworking, trains and steam engines. He was the happiest when he could be outdoors mowing his lawn and trending to his gardens.
Survivors include his loving wife of 49 years, Janice Cornelius Wheeler, his children, Machelle Lyn Morgan of Lansing, NY, William D. (Laura) Wheeler of Homer, NY and Gerald W. (Courtney Ann Lefberg) Wheeler of Campbell Hall, NY; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers, Ralph (Linda) Wheeler, Jack Wheeler, Hank (Marilyn) Wheeler; sisters, Dorothy Bishop, Gloria Higgins and Grace (Ken) Colton; nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by brothers, Kent and George Wheeler.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Burial, delayed, will be in Willow Glen Cemetery, Dryden. Friends are encouraged to make a contribution to their favorite conservation fund.
