SALLY LEE WELLS, age 69, of 393 Ringwood Road, Freeville, NY passed away Thursday, December 18, 2014 at the Cayuga Medical Center after a brief illness. Sally was born March 5, 1945 in Ithaca, NY a daughter of the late Leslie E. Blackman and Alberta Ash Blackman. Sally was employed at the Fall Creek School as a Teacher’s Aide. She was a Past President of the Eagles Lodge in Ithaca. She was well known for her giving nature and the loving way that she worked with the children at school. She enjoyed knitting and had made mittens for many of the children in the Ithaca School District.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Frank Wells of Freeville, her sons, Kenneth of Ithaca, Gary of Freeville and Benjamin (Tara) Wells of Mt. Pocono, PA; a grandson, James Wells of Ithaca; her siblings, Albert (Bonnie) Sautter, Susan Applegarth Clinton and Verma Bates, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and an infant daughter.
Funeral services will be held at 4 PM, Saturday, Dec. 27th at the Perkins Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Winkelman officiating. Friends are invited to call from 2 to 4 Saturday prior to the funeral. Burial, delayed, will be in Willow Glen Cemetery, Dryden. Friends are invited to the Ithaca Eagles Lodge after the funeral.
