Scott J. Neff

SCOTT J. NEFF , age 39, of 38 South Avenue, Cortland, NY died Monday, October 31, 2005 at his residence. Scott was born Dec. 13, 1965 in Montrose, PA a son of Art and Linda Harbst Neff of Dryden. Scott was graduated from Dryden High School in 1984 and served two years in Germany with the US Army. For several years Scott was employed in the construction trades and was an experienced carpet layer. Presently he had been employed as a Warehouse Group Leader at Marietta Corp. in Cortland. Scott was an avid outdoorsman and loved to party, fish, hunt and cook.

Survivors include his parents, Art and Linda Neff of Dryden; his son, Scott J. II and his mother Nancy Hansen of McGraw; his friend and angel, Pam Hoy and her children, Crystal, Dan and Richie all of Cortland; his sisters, Terri (Dennis) Underwood of McGraw and children, Stacey(Joe), Dennis Jr.(Debbie), Scott (Crystal), and Shirley Roy; Julie (Jack) Beebe and children Matthew and Rachel all of Sherrills Ford, NC; his brothers, Mark (friend, Joyce) Neff of Etna and his children John, Christine and David of Cortland, Guy (Lorry) Neff and children Arthur, Donald and Michael all of Lansing, NY and his grandmother, Mildred Harbst of Cortland; several aunts; uncles, a great niece and four great nephews; and cousins.

Scott’s family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Thursday evening, Nov. 3, at the Perkins Funeral Home, 55 West Main St., Dryden after which a celebration of his life will be lead by Rev. Merritt Dayton. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
