Sharon Lynne Ortiz was taken too soon on July 30, 2023 at the age of 59. Daughter to Gloria (Wilson) Ortiz and the late John Ortiz, Sharon spent her life in the Ithaca, New York area. She was a beloved sister to Karen Ortiz, Christine Ortiz, Jennifer Ortiz Reeves, Rebeka (Ortiz) Mazzone, Amy Ortiz Stillwell, Elisha Ortiz, her fur baby Callie, and nieces and nephews raised alongside her as siblings Charity Cole, Adriana Hollenbeck, and Robbie Oltz. Sharon was predeceased by her sister Rona Lee Wilson and nephews, Joshua Reeves and Michael Simmons and a niece, Aubrey Ortiz. She was known under many names, such as Sharon Lynnie and Princess. Sharon will be missed by all those who knew her, including an abundance of nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly.
Everyone that came in contact with Sharon felt a gravitational love towards her. She expressed herself through her witty sense of humor, and was known to be able to light up a whole room by simply walking in. Sharon would never miss an opportunity to compliment your clothing, hair, or nails, and remembered details about people she only met once. She truly had a contagious personality.
Sharon was known for her love of shopping, pugs, true crime stories, and coffee dates. She was always up to dance around the living room with her family to her favorite music. She was a remarkable individual whose passion for life left a mark on anyone she met. It wasn’t just her vibrant personality that defined Sharon, but her giving heart and incredible generosity. She will be greatly missed by all who were lucky enough to know her.
Relatives and friends are invited to Sharon’s Celebration of Life on Thursday, August 3, 2023 at Perkins Funeral Home, 55 West Main St, Dryden, NY starting with a calling hours at 10am, a brief ceremony at 11am and procession to Willow Glen Cemetery for final goodbyes.
