STUART EVAN PARSONS,
age 73, of Virgil, NY passed away Friday, July 8, 2011 at University Hospital, Syracuse, NY after a brief illness.
Born February 7, 1938 in Oneonta, NY he was the son of the late John and Marie Richards Parsons and husband of Catherine Romeo Parsons whom he married August 12, 1961. Stuart was self employed as a Floor Mechanic, he was a 40 year member and past Chief of the Virgil Fire Dept. He had been active with the Boy Scouts and he enjoyed spending time with his family, camping, traveling and gardening.
Mr. Parsons is survived by his wife, Catherine Parsons at home; sons, Jeffrey Parsons of Manhattan, Thomas Parsons of Mass.; sister, Beverly Ritchko of Oneonta and Marilou (David) Stewart of PA and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Earl Parsons and Delbert Parsons, and two sisters, Betty Moyer and Euretta Sponburgh.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at Holy Cross Church, with Rev. Malachy Eloo Nwosu officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Cortland, NY. Friends may call from 6-8 PM Tuesday at the Perkins Funeral Home, 55 W. Main St., Dryden, NY.
