Ithaca, NY - SYLVIA MANCUSO
died Saturday February 9th at age 91. Born at home on July 13, 1916, third of nine children, to Albert and Luella Gustafson, in the Town of Varick, NY. She graduated as Valedictorian from Mynderse Academy, Seneca Falls, NY and attended Cornell’s Agricultural College. She was employed by (and retired from) the First National Bank in Ithaca. She was predeceased by her husbands, Harry L. Sutherland (1958) and Dominick J. Mancuso (1992).
Survivors include her two sons and two daughters - David (Joan) Sutherland, McLean and Donald (Bea) Sutherland, Endicott; Karen Sullivan, Newfield and Kathy (Earl) Carpenter, Ithaca. In addition she is survived by her grandchildren, David (Cynthia) Sutherland, Linda Anderson, Daniel (Mary) Sutherland, Juli (Peter) Nichols, Jeff (Corey) Sutherland, Paula (Wayne) Miller, Patty (Dave) Siegard, PJ (Kristin) Sullivan, Christopher Carpenter, Matthew Carpenter and her 21 great-grandchildren. Surviving siblings are Dorothy Gustafson and Bud Gustafson.
Funeral services are February 14th, 2008 at 10 am at the Perkins Funeral Home. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Ithaca. Her family will receive friends Wednesday, February 13th, from 5 to7 pm at the funeral home, 55 W. Main St., Dryden, NY.
