THOMAS J. BURKE, age 58, of 22 Fuller Lane, Slaterville Springs, NY passed away Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at the Hospicare Residence after a brief illness.Born September 21, 1953 in the Bronx, NY, he is the son of Therese Harr Burke and the late William J. Burke.
In addition to his mother, Therese Burke and Ken Shackleton of Sidney, NY, Tom is survived by his wife, Penny Ahsmann Burke of Slaterville Springs, NY; three sons, Daniel (Amy) Burke of Berkshire, NY, Ted Burke of Binghamton, NY and Brad Burke of San Francisco, CA; sisters, Frances Burke of Highland Park, NJ, Kathleen (Richard) Herban of Sayerville, NJ and Dorothy Tribble of Powhatan, VA; granddaughter, Miranda Burke; step children, Jamie (Mary) Randall of McGraw, NY, Sara (Karl) Spoonhower of Berkshire, NY, Matthew Randall of Willett, NY and Kyle Brame of Binghamton, NY; step grandchildren, Taylor and Shayne Spoonhower, Damien, Emma, Jamie and Ryder Randall, and Brynn Randall; and his faithful companion Gracie. In addition to his father, Tom was predeceased by his brother, William J. Burke, Jr.
Family and Friends are invited to a celebration of his life from 1-5 pm, Sunday, March 25, 2012 at the Lisle Fire Station, Route 79, Lisle, NY. He was employed by Mc Graw House in Building Maintenance. He was an avid pool player, and loved to hunt, fish and be outdoors and was a great practical joker.
