Thomas F. Butler

THOMAS F. BUTLER, age 86, of 1269 Dryden Road, Ithaca, NY died Saturday, December 16th, 2006 at The Cayuga Medical Center at Ithaca. Mr. Butler was born May 20, 1920 in Hamilton, Ontario a son of the late Cyrus and Ethel Park Butler. His family moved to Ithaca, NY in 1921 and resided in the Ellis Hollow area before moving to Dryden Road. "Tom" served with the US Army in France and Germany during WWII and was honorably discharged in 1945. On July 31, 1946 he was married to the former Laura M. Lanphere at Dolgeville, NY. Tom was employed for various tree companies including General Tree Service and later was a warehouse foreman at Seneca Supply Co. Years ago he enjoyed square dancing and spending time at the family cottage on Lake Como.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Laura Butler at home, his son, Wayne (Nanette) of Trumansburg; his daughter, Catherine E. Grover of Freeville; his brother, Benson Butler of Martville, NY; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Abiding with Mr. Butler’s wishes, services will be private and at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Perkins Funeral Home, 55 West Main St., Dryden, NY assisted the family.
