THOMAS B. KEANE. Jr., age 76, of 9 Terrace Road, Cortland, NY died Sunday, November 2, 2014 at University Hospital, Syracuse, NY after a brief illness. Tom was born July 14, 1938 in Ithaca, son of the late Thomas B. and Eileen Koistinen Keane.
A 1956 graduate of Dryden High School, he attended Broome Community College for a short while prior to enlisting in the US Army Reserves. On August 13, 1966 he was married to the former Donna L. Harris who survives.
Tom was employed at TC3 for 38 years in the Maintenance Department. Previously he had been employed at the Syracuse Herald and The Ithaca Journal as a printer. He enjoyed his daughters and his many grandchildren and admired John Deere tractors and Ford trucks. He was a loving family man and enjoyed spending time on his beloved “Turkey Hill”
Survivors include his wife, Donna at Home, his daughters, Sharon (Dan) Travis, Lisa Keane , and Renee (Jeff) Nadge; his siblings, Jeffery Keane, Kathleen Keane, Janice Smart and Margaret Wilkinson; 18 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents and a sister, Maureen Keane Porter.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM, Friday, November 7, 2014 at the Perkins Funeral Home with Rev. David H. Nicholls officiating. Burial will follow in Willow Glen Cemetery, Dryden. There are no calling hours. www.perkinsfuneralhome.com
