Thomas Forrest Terry

Thomas Forrest Terry was born in Greenport, New York on July 15, 1948, and passed on February 5, 2024, in his home in Tully, New York.

He is survived by his wife Linda Barber Terry; daughters Amy Terry Finne (Deron Johnson), Audrey Terry (Jim Dodson), Andrea Terry Ayres (Mark Ayres), Abby Terry Decker; sister Betty Terry Draper from Brockport, NY; nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents Elnore Ketcham and Erwin Forrest Terry, and sister Alice Terry Havens.

He graduated from Brockport High School in 1967, then went on to work as a phone technician for many years on Long Island and the Iroquois Phone Company in Dryden. Later he worked at Cortland Electronics for many years, taking pride in the many systems he installed over time. Tom devoted the last 30 years to serving and mentoring others in Alcoholics Anonymous. In July of 1982, he married Linda Barber Terry, and the two remained married for 41 years. He was an avid golfer and bowler, and always had a good joke or story to share. Tom was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend who always took an interest in others. His smile lit up the world! He loved to “leave 'em laughing!”

Calling hours will be held Monday, February 12 from 4-6pm at Perkins Funeral Home. A memorial service will be at McLean Church on Tuesday, February 13 at 11am.  In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the American Heart Association.
