Travis Ewald Bleck, son of Ewald (Rick) Frederick Bleck and Sharon Gutchess Bleck, died tragically on March 11, 2022, at his home on Montgomery Street, from an undiagnosed aneurysm.
Travis was loved from the moment he was born 40 years ago.. He weighed 10.4 pounds and the pediatric nurses fell in love with him instantly. He continued to bring much love and laughter to his friends and family with his warm smile and big bear hugs.
He loved to ride his motorcycle, hunt with the Bleck boys and repair small engines. He completed a two-year diesel mechanic program in Florida and enjoyed working on Ford diesels. He was a talented mechanic who held jobs as a service writer, auto repair assistant manager, County fleet maintenance mechanic and automotive parts salesman. He was often seen working on vehicles at his home. He was proud of his automotive knowledge and was a certified NYS Department of Motor Vehicle inspector.
Travis often had music on full blast as he worked on vehicles, chainsaws and lawn equipment. He liked the challenge of difficult mechanical diagnosis’ and prided himself when he “solved the puzzle”. Trips to an auto salvage yard or a pull-a-part business were bonding times with his father and they often came home with “great finds”.
Travis always looked forward to the yearly Memorial Day picnics hosted by his parents. He loved his family and traveled to Cancun and Venezuela, in addition to his job training in Florida.
Travis adored his pets, Shiner, Sydney and Lily and he was an exceptionally loving “parent” to them. Trips to the State land, ponds, automobile rides or just relaxing in front of the fireplace brought much happiness to all.
His love for music led him to guitar lessons. He often serenaded his mom with a new song and he frequently strummed along with internet videos. He hung out with his friends and shared his musical and vocal talents at their jam sessions.
Losing Travis so unexpectedly has broken the hearts of his older sister, Alicia, his grandmother Clara Bleck, and his countless friends and family members. We know he didn’t want to leave us.
Please give more hugs and tell people you love them. Death causes so much despair but we will forever cherish those last words from Travis, “I love you!”
Family and friends are invited to call from 2-4 pm on Sunday, March 20, 2022 at Perkins Funeral Home, 55 W. Main St., Dryden, NY a service will follow at 4 pm.
