VIRGINIA A. DRAKE,
75, of 1028 Ellis Hollow Rd., Ithaca, NY went to heaven on Tuesday, October 18, 2005 at Cayuga Medical Center at Ithaca following a brief illness. Born October 30, 1929 in the Town of Niles, NY, she was a daughter of the late Eugene H. and Sarah E. Beacham Mack. She had been a security supervisor with Morris Protective Services of Syracuse, NY prior to her retirement in 1993. Ginny had a real talent for arts and crafts and enjoyed making things for others.
Mrs. Drake is survived by her loving companion of 10 years, Raymond Newhart of Ithaca; her children, Charles E. (Judy) Drake of Merrill, NY, Richard O. (Anne) Drake of Lansing, NY, Michele D. (Jon) Fish of Lansing, NY, Cheryl E. (James) Dykeman-Loveless of North Lansing, NY, Tracey B. Drake of Harford, NY and Doris R. (Leonard) Scott of Moravia, NY; sisters, Aleeta Bell of Skaneateles, NY and Eleanor Brock of Moravia, NY; 25 grandchildren, many great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and close friend Lucy O’Dell of Ithaca. In addition, she was predeceased by her three brothers, Gordon Mack in 1972, Clifford Mack in 1971 and Stanley Mack in 1988 and her former husband, Clifford O. "Kip" Drake in 1998.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, October 24, 2005 at Lansing United Methodist Church with Rev. William Gottschalk-Fielding officiating. Private burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
