VIRGINIA M. PACKARD, age 83, formerly of Sherman Road, Cortland, NY, died Saturday, December 7, 2013 at the home of her daughter, Deborah, in Locke, NY. Mrs. Packard was born March 18, 1930 in Cortland and was a daughter of the late Jestin Carl Kenyon and Ruth Elisabeth Moe Kenyon. Virginia was graduated from Virgil High School on June 27, 1949 and was preceded in death by her husband, James F. Packard. Mr. and Mrs. Packard were members of the former South Cortland Grange. She was employed at Crescent Corset, NCC and was a greeter at K-Mart. She enjoyed gardening, reading, knitting and crochet but most of all loved being with her family.

Survivors include her children, Victoria (Donald) Broome, Deborah (John) Davis, Diane Packard and Dennis (Noreen) Packard; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brothers, Charles (Beatrice) Kenyon and Lawrence (Bobbie) Kenyon as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by brothers, Carl and Richard; a sister, Dorothy Chason and a grandson, James “Jamie” Tratt.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM, Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013 at the Perkins Funeral Home with Rev. Matthew Binkewicz officiating. Burial will follow in Willow Glen Cemetery, Dryden. Friends are invited to call from 10 to 11 AM Thursday at the funeral home, 55 West Main St., Dryden. Memorials are directed to the American Cancer Society, 13 Beech St Johnson City, New York 13790.
