Wayne A. Scofield, of Dryden, NY, aged 70, passed away on June 14, 2024. Born on June 5, 1954, in Elmira, NY, Wayne was a man of warmth and wit, known for his love of family and his service to his country. He proudly served in the Navy aboard the USS Oriskany during the Vietnam era, a testament to his courage and patriotism.

Wayne was a cherished love to Terri, Pat and Nadine. He was a guiding light to his daughters, Jessie Hamilton, Nicole (Chris) Vorhis, and Rachelle (Steven) Lewis; and sons Thomas Hurlbutt and Justin Derocher. A beloved grandfather, he took joy in the lives of his grandchildren Allyson, Chris Jr., and Parker. His sister Sue (Bill) Houston, sister-in-law Candy Scofield, along with many nieces, nephews, and their children, will hold his memory dear. Wayne was predeceased by his parents, Raymond and Beverly Scofield and his brother Steve.

An avid outdoorsman, Wayne was often found hunting or fishing, his love for the natural world evident. His enthusiasm for music led him to many concerts, and he found pleasure in the pursuit of antique treasures.

A gathering in remembrance of Wayne's life will be held at Myers Park in Lansing, NY, on August 3rd at 1pm. In the spirit of community, attendees are encouraged to bring a dish to share, with beverages kindly provided.

Wayne's legacy of humor, wisdom, and generosity of spirit will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known him. The family extends their heartfelt thanks for the compassion shown during this time of loss.
