William Edward Avery

William E. Avery, 83 of Dryden passed away Sunday, November 21, 2021 at Guthrie Cortland after a brief illness. Bill was born on September 23, 1938 in Cohocton, NY the son of the late Ernest and Elizabeth Hughes Avery.  He served in the US Navy, and worked for many years as a contractor around Tompkins County.  Bill enjoyed traveling, often driving to California finding every casino along the way.  He was predeceased by his parents, wife Sandra Avery, brother, Ron Avery and his grandson, Lee Avery.

Bill is survived by his children: Al (Bambi) Avery, Steve (Linda) Avery, Julie Avery, and Jennifer (Jim) Grady of Florida; sister, Pauline Miles of California; 4 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, November 26, 2021 at 11 am in Green Hills Cemetery, Dryden, NY.  In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Dryden Veterans Memorial Home, Building Fund, 2272 Dryden Rd, Dryden, NY 13053.
