William Ernest Bartlett

WILLIAM E. BARTLETT, age 75, of Hart Road, Dryden, NY passed away Wednesday, January 27th, 2016 at the Beechtree Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Ithaca, NY after a brief illness. "Bill" was born in Cortland, NY, a son of the late Ernest and Mary Ripley Bartlett and had lived on Hart Road since 1945, having previously resided on Scott Road in Homer. He was graduated from Dryden High School and owned and operated a family dairy farm for many years prior to becoming employed by RMS Gravel. Bill was a member of the Grange, The Tompkins County Amateur Radio Club, The Seven Valley Weavers, The Finger Lakes Lace Guild and Black Sheep Spinners and Tompkins County Farm Bureau. A quiet and friendly soul, Bill will be missed by a large group of friends. Bills family thanks the staff members at Cayuga Medical Center Radiology Dept. and the caregivers at Beechtree for their kind and compassionate care.
Survivors include his brothers, Frederick Bartlett of Dryden and Malcolm L. (Laurie) Bartlett of Altamont Springs, FL; his sister, Suzanne (Frank) Horvath of Freeville; nieces, Michelle (Thomas, II) Guirlinger, Amanda (Bryan) Harman and Emily Bartlett; great nieces, Ruby Guirlinger and Lily Harmon and a great nephew, Thomas Guirlinger, III and many friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Saturday, January 30, 2016 at the Perkins Funeral Home with Rev. Ronald Miller officiating. Burial in Willow Glen Cemetery will be delayed. Friends are invited to call from 3 to 5 PM, Friday at the funeral home, 55 West Main Street, Dryden. Memorials are directed to the American Cancer Society, 13 Beech Road, Johnson City, NY 13790.
