William W. (Bill) Melfi

William W. Melfi, 94 of Groton, NY passed away February 24, 2025 in the comfort of his home.

Born February 1, 1931 in Syracuse, NY to the late Robert and Ada Meaker Melfi. He was predeceased by his wife, Irene Burnett Melfi; brothers, Vincent, John, and Harold Melfi; and his sister Dorothea Dyer. Bill is survived by his sons, Tony, Mike, John, Jason and Anthony; daughters, Brenda (Bill) Jenney, Charlene (Pat) Haskell, Sheri, and Kimberly; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews and nieces.

Bill joined the Air Force in 1949, and later married Irene and moved to Groton where they raised their children and fostered several more children over 40 years. Bill worked at Cortland Memorial Hospital where he retired, after 20 years, to stay home and help his wife with the children.

Services and burial in Green Hills Cemetery, Dryden will be private at the convenience of the family.
