William Blaine “Bill” Rumgay,
age 64, of Franklin, TN and formerly of Saratoga Springs and Groton, NY died Friday, September 23, 2011 at Vanderbilt Medical Center, Nashville, TN. Born February 27, 1947 in Cortland, NY, he was a son of the late James and Betty Geist Rumgay. He was a retired accountant for New York State and an avid fan of the Grand Ole Opry. Bill is survived by his wife, Sharon Robinson Rumgay of Franklin, TN; his sons, Stephen (Chelsey) Rumgay of TX and William (Jennifer) Rumgay of NY; daughters, Jean Rumgay of Franklin, TN, Deborah (Ryan) Dunkelberger of Nunnelly, TN, Patricia Rumgay of NY and Elizabeth (Chris) Biddle of NY; brother, Gary Rumgay of Groton, NY; 10 grandchildren and one great grandchild. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am on Saturday, October 1, 2011 at St. Anthony’s Church, Groton, NY with Rev. Malachy Eloo Nwosu as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Groton, NY. Friends may call from 4 – 8 pm, Friday at the Perkins Funeral Home, 55 W. Main St., Dryden, NY.
